Jury Awards $2.5 Million in Case Involving Experimental Friction Products

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- A New York jury has awarded $2.5 million to a plaintiff who claimed he worked with experimental asbestos-containing friction products, sources told HarrisMartin. Ginter v. Ford Motor Co., et al., No. 2010-4061 (N.Y. Sup. Ct., Erie Cty.).
The New York Supreme Court for Erie County jury reached the verdict July 13, rejecting claims by Ford Motor Co. -- the lone remaining defendant at the time of the verdict -- that it did not manufacture the machine the plaintiff allegedly used. Judge John P. Lane (ret.) presided over the trial.
