Dallas Jurors Find for Murco Wall Products Inc. in Bystander Exposure Case

DALLAS -- A Texas jury has reached a defense verdict in favor of Murco Wall Products Inc., rejecting claims of a former union carpenter who said he was exposed to the defendant's asbestos-containing joint compound products. Giles, et al. v. Asbestos Companies, et al., No. DC09-13575-D (Texas 68th Jud. Dist. Ct., Dallas Cty.).

On June 24, the Texas 68th Judicial District Court for Dallas County jury concluded that Murco's actions were not a proximate cause of Calvin Giles Jr.'s mesothelioma. Judge Martin Hoffman presided over the trial.
