Georgia Jury Finds for Georgia-Pacific, Union Carbide in Joint Compound Case




CUMMING, Ga. -- A Georgia jury has reached a defense verdict for two defendants, rejecting claims that the decedent's mesothelioma was caused by exposure to joint compound products, sources told HarrisMartin. Trimble, et al. v. Georgia Pacific LLC, et al., No. 08SC-1831 (Ga. State Ct., Forsyth Cty.).

On June 7, the Georgia State Court for Forsyth County jury entered a verdict in favor of Georgia-Pacific LLC and Union Carbide Corp. Judge T. Russell McClelland presided over the trial.
