Ohio Court Rejects Challenges to Case Linking Chrysotile Asbestos to Peritoneal Mesothelioma

CLEVELAND -- An Ohio Court has rejected defense efforts to preclude evidence linking an asbestos plaintiff's peritoneal mesothelioma to his exposure to chrysotile asbestos on the eve of trial, sources told HarrisMartin Publishing. Brown v. Ford Motor Co., et al., No. 702689 (Ohio Ct. Comm. Pls., Cuyahoga Cty.).

Sources said that the Ohio Court of Common Pleas for Cuyahoga County is expected to release an opinion explaining its April 28 one-page ruling at "a later date." Trial is scheduled to commence May 2, sources said. Five defendants remain in the action.
