Calif. Supreme Court Denies Petition to Review Verdict Against Union Carbide

LOS ANGELES -- California's highest court has denied a petition for review, allowing a $7 million judgment to stand against Union Carbide in a case involving exposure to asbestos manufactured by the defendant and later incorporated into joint compound products. Stewart v. Union Carbide Corp., No. S189287 (Calif. Sup. Ct.).

According to the California Supreme Court's online docket, the petition for review was denied on March 2. Union Carbide had filed the brief on Dec. 28, shortly after the California Second District Court of Appeal had upheld the verdict.
