Texas Jury Awards Family of Paper Mill Worker $1.7 Million

LUFKIN, Texas - A Texas jury has awarded $1.7 million to the family of a man who died of mesothelioma, allegedly caused by his exposure to asbestos dust that circulated throughout the mill where he worked. Moore v. Brown & Root, Inc., No. 29668 (Texas Dist. Ct., Angelina Cty.).
The Angelina County jury reached its verdict June 10, finding construction company and Halliburton subsidiary Brown & Root liable for the injury and subsequent death of Willie Moore.
