Crown, Cork & Seal Files Motion to Rehear Texas Supreme Court Successor Liability Decision




AUSTIN, Texas -- Crown, Cork & Seal Co., has filed a motion for rehearing in the wake of a high court decision that found that the retroactive application of legislation limiting successor companies' liability in asbestos cases substantially impacted the plaintiffs' claims and did not serve the public interest. Robinson, et al. v. Crown Cork & Seal Inc., et al., No. 06-0714 (Texas Sup. Ct.).

The defendant filed the motion for rehearing on Dec. 9, according to the high court's online docket.
