LOS ANGELES –– As a premises defendant, Ford Motor did not owe a duty to the family members of independent contractors working with asbestos on its grounds, a California appellate court has ruled. Campbell, et al. v. Ford Motor Co., et al., No. B221322 (Calif. Ct. App., 2nd Dist., Div. 7).

In the May 21 opinion, the California Second District Court of Appeal said that the connection between the decedent and the defendant was “far too attenuated” to justify imposing a duty to warn on the defendant.
