JACKSON, Miss. -- The Mississippi Supreme Court has affirmed a trial court ruling that enforced a settlement agreement between Illinois Central Railroad Co. and former employees, ruling that second B-reads proffered in support of their claims were sufficient. Illinois Central Railroad Co. v. Gary R. Byrd, et al., No. 2009-CA-0065-SCT (Miss. Sup. Ct.).
In the Aug. 26 opinion, the high court concluded that the parties had entered into an enforceable settlement agreement for underlying asbestos claims.
