N.J. Appellate Court Affirms $7.5 Million Verdict in Take-Home Exposure Case

TRENTON, N.J. -- A New Jersey appellate court has affirmed a $7.5 million verdict for a plaintiff who claimed she was exposed to asbestos while laundering her husband's work clothing, ruling that her exposure was a "foreseeable risk." Anderson, et al. v. A.J. Friedman Supply Co., et al., No. A-5892-07T1 (N.J. Super Ct., App. Div.).

In the Aug. 20 opinion, the Appellate Division of the New Jersey Superior Court opined that "once the ability to foresee harm was established, fairness and justness extended the duty to the wife."
