Georgia Jury Awards $10.5 Million in Case Involving Scapa and Union Carbide

WAYCROSS, Ga. -- A Georgia jury has awarded more than $10.5 million in an asbestos case involving claims of exposure to dryer felts and joint compound products, sources told HarrisMartin. Knight v. Georgia-Pacific, et al., No. 09-v-0799 (Ga. Super. Ct., Ware Cty.).
Judge Michael Devane of the Georgia Superior Court for Ware County presided over the trial, which ended on July 15 with a verdict.
