Ky. High Court Says Trial Court Has Jurisdiction over Reorganized Company

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The Kentucky Supreme Court has ruled that a trial court does in fact have jurisdiction over claims pending against a company that reorganized under bankruptcy law in 2002. Sunbeam v. Hon. Ronnie C. Dortch, Judge, Hancock Circuit Court, et al., No. 2009-SC-000501-MR (Ky. Sup. Ct.).

In the May 20 ruling, the high court declined to weigh in on whether the trial court properly denied the defendant's motion to dismiss the suit.
