LOS ANGELES -- A California appellate court has ruled that a $35 million asbestos verdict was excessive and instead issued a remittitur that based the defendants liability on a total of $5 million in damages. Davis, et al. v. Leslie Controls Inc., et al., No. B205984 (Calif. Ct. App., 2nd App. Dist., Div. 7).
