Texas Woman Awarded $4 Million for Late Husband's Asbestos Injuries

TYLER, Texas - A jury in Smith County has awarded nearly $4 million to the wife of a Texas man who developed mesothelioma, allegedly after years of exposure at Kelly-Springfield Tire Co. Shelton v. Brown & Root, Inc., No. 00016-C (Texas Dist. Ct., Smith Cty.).
The Jan. 22 award to Sharon Shelton included $1.25 million in punitive damages. Shelton had sued several defendants for her husband's alleged exposure to asbestos-containing products.
