Calif. Court Reverses $21 Million Verdict, Cites Taylor

LOS ANGELES -- A California appellate court has once again weighed in on a component parts dispute, ruling that a defendant in an asbestos action did not owe a duty to a plaintiff for asbestos-containing products later affixed to its valves. The William Powell Co. v. Walton, et al., No. B208214 (Calif. Ct. App., 2nd Dist., Div. 4).
In the April 22 published opinion, the California Court of Appeal for the Second District reversed the $21 million verdict and remanded the case with instructions to vacate the judgment and enter a new judgment in favor of the defendant.
