LOS ANGELES -- Summary judgment has been affirmed to defendant contractors in an asbestos case after a California appellate court found that no evidence in the record supported a causal link between the defendants' work and the plaintiff's illness. Whitmire, et al. v. Ingersoll-Rand Co., et al., No. B210211 (Calif. 2nd Dist. Ct. App., Div. 4).
In the April 22 opinion, the California Second District Court of Appeal stated that the plaintiffs had submitted insufficient evidence to create the reasonable probability that exposure to the defendants' products caused the alleged injury.
