N.J. Jurors Find for PATH in Asbestos Lung Cancer Case

JERSEY CITY, N.J. -- A New Jersey jury has reached a verdict in favor of the Port Authority Trans-Hudson Corp., accepting the defendant's arguments that it did provide a safe working environment for its employees and that the decedent's smoking history was a more substantial factor in his development of lung cancer. Olson, et al. v. Port Authority Trans-Hudson Corp., No. HUD-L-1577-07 (N.J. Super. Ct., Hudson Cty.).
Judge Bernadette N. De Castro of the New Jersey Superior Court for Hudson County presided over the trial, which ended in the defense verdict on March 16.
