BROWNSVILLE, Texas -- A Texas jury has awarded $3 million in an asbestos case that went to trial shortly after the judge overseeing the state's coordinated asbestos docket determined that plaintiffs could rely on a fiber burden analysis study the defendants claimed was "extremely flawed." Torres, et al. v. Union Carbide Corp., et al., No. 2009-06-3742-A (Texas 107th Dist. Ct., Cameron Cty.).
The Texas 107th District Court for Cameron County jury reached the verdict on March 5, after a trial presided over by Judge Benjamin Euresti Jr.
