Jury Reaches $17 Million Verdict; Defendant Settles During Phase II




PHILADELPHIA -- A Pennsylvania jury awarded a total of $17 million in the first phase of two asbestos trials before a settlement agreement was reached during the second phase, in which the jury would have determined liability and causation as to the lone remaining defendant, sources told HarrisMartin. Kolar, et al. v. Crane Co., et al., No. 00199; Paulin, et al. v. Crane Co., et al., No. 0 00911 (Pa. Ct. Comm. Pls., Philadelphia Cty.).
