MILWAUKEE - A Wisconsin Court of Appeals has upheld a $1.05 million verdict awarded to the wife of a former utility worker who developed mesothelioma as a result of exposure to asbestos in boilers at one of his employer's power plants. Anderson v. Combustion Engineering, No. 01-1518 (Wis. App. Ct., Dist. One).

In an opinion issued May 21, the Court of Appeals of Wisconsin, District One, ruled there was sufficient evidence presented at trial linking the machinist's mesothelioma to asbestos fibers emitted from six of the eight coal-fired boilers on the Wisconsin Electric Power Co.'s Oak Creek property.
