Ohio Court Won't Hear Appeal of Decision To Uphold $1.6 Million Asbestos Verdict

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio Supreme Court has opted not to hear the appeal of a $1.6 million asbestos verdict awarded to the widow of a steelworker who died of mesothelioma four years ago. Cicchillo v. A Best Products Co., et al., No. 02-337 (Ohio Sup. Ct.).

By order entered May 15, the state high court declined jurisdiction to hear the appeal of defendant Pittsburgh Corning Corp., which had contested the state appeals court's January decision to uphold the verdict.
