SAN FRANCISCO -- A former construction worker who claimed that his work with drywall led him to develop mesothelioma has been awarded $8,468,759.00 by a California jury, according to sources. Reynolds v. Hamilton Materials, et al., No. 274747 (Calif. Super. Ct., San Francisco Cty.).
Sources told HarrisMartin that the San Francisco County Superior Court jurors deliberated for one day before reaching the June 15 verdict. Trial in the case began on May 20 and was presided over by Judge Mary E. Wiss.
The jury broke down its award into $468,759.00 total for economic damages -- $100,000 for past medical expenses; …
