Pa. Judge Enters $1.2 Million Judgment, Denies Post-Trial Motions

PHILADELPHIA -- A Pennsylvania judge has entered a total judgment of $1.2 million against Melrath Gasket Inc., rejecting the defendant's attempts to have the verdict thrown out on grounds that a sufficient causal link to its products wasn't established during trial. Busatto, et al., v. Melrath Gasket Inc., April Term, 2008 No. 2137 (Pa. 1st Jud. Dist. Ct. Comm. Pls., Philadelphia Cty.).

In his June 4 order, Judge Victor J. DiNubile Jr. of the First Judicial District Court of Common Pleas for Philadelphia County opined that there "was more than sufficient evidence for the Court to find Melrath liable."
