SAN FRANCISCO –– A California appellate court has affirmed an award of summary judgment to a general contractor defendant, finding in part that the expert evidence the plaintiff used to support the claims was speculative. Casey v. Perini Corp., No. A131881 (Calif. 1st Dist. Ct. App., Div. 4).

In the June opinion, the California First District Court of Appeal found that the plaintiff’s discovery responses were devoid of facts that would establish a causal link between the defendant and the decedent’s alleged exposure.
