Texas Proposal Comes out of Committee Favorably; Referred to Senate

AUSTIN, Texas -- A Texas bill that would alter admissibility standards for mesothelioma claimants has passed through the State Affairs Committee favorably and has been referred to the Texas State Senate for consideration, sources told HarrisMartin. Senate Bill 1123, Relating to the standard of causation in claims involving mesothelioma caused by exposure to asbestos fibers (Texas State Legislature).
The committee reached the decision April 2, more than two weeks after it heard argument relating to the proposal, which would remove the dosage requirement from the admissibility standard the Texas Supreme Court established in Borg-Warner v. Flores in June 2007.
