Counsel in the coordinated California DePuy ASR hip implant litigation have rescheduled the deposition of defendant Thomas P. Schmalzried, M.D., for April 11, 12 and 13 in Los Angeles.
California plaintiffs pursuing claims over allegedly defective Pinnacle hip implants are opposing transfer to an MDL in Texas and are simultaneously pursuing efforts to persuade a California federal judge to remand their case to state court.

An Illinois federal judge has transferred a Wright Medical hip implant case to another district within the state, saying that despite the likelihood that the case will soon be moved to the newly created MDL, transfer is appropriate now.
The California judge overseeing that state's coordinated DePuy ASR hip implant docket has signed an order proposed by plaintiffs and defendants to prevent the inadvertent disclosure of trade secrets and privileged information in discovery.
