An Illinois federal court overseeing a talc-based powder class action lawsuit has granted Johnson & Johnson’s motion to dismiss the complaint for failure to state a claim, but granted the plaintiff leave to amend.
A defendant named in a talc-related ovarian cancer suit has moved for summary judgment and to exclude the testimony of a plaintiff’s expert, saying in part that the expert has never published the conclusion that talc can cause ovarian cancer.
A multi-county litigation designation has been assigned to claims involving talc-based body powder products used for feminine hygiene purposes, according to a recent notice.
