Louisiana Court Affirms Summary Judgment Awards in Take-Home Asbestos Case

GRETNA, La. –– A Louisiana appellate court has affirmed summary judgment awards to several asbestos defendants, after finding that the plaintiffs had not established that the decedent’s father was given asbestos-containing vests and gloves during the course of his employment.

In its May 23 decision, the Louisiana 5th Circuit Court of Appeal noted that expert testimony and photographs offered in opposition of the summary judgment motions could not be considered since they were not admitted as evidence in the take-home asbestos case.
