HarrisMartin's MDL Conference: Target Data Security Breach Litigation Speaker Profiles

Co-Chair Gayle M. Blatt, Casey Gerry Schenk Francavilla Blatt & Penfield LLP, San Diego Show/Hide Bio

“While I love the intellectual challenges of this job, what really drives me is the ability to help people rebuild their lives after unfortunate, life changing events,” says firm partner Gayle Blatt. Heading the firm’s pharmaceutical practice group, Blatt is currently one of few San Diego litigators who specialize in pharmaceutical and medical device cases. She joined CaseyGerry more than 25 years ago, and has steadily climbed the legal ranks ever since, handling dozens of high profile, multi-million cases.

Over the last decade, she has played an increasingly prominent role in a complete spectrum of national pharmaceutical litigation cases, including Hydroxycut and Baycol, and in this capacity, has handled national class action litigation for an array of pharmaceutical products and medical devices. She was appointed by U.S. District Judge Barry Ted Moskowitz to serve on the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee as Liaison Counsel for the large number of Hydroxycut personal injury cases in Multi-District Litigation (MDL 2087), recently settled in the Southern District of California. Also specializing in serious personally injury cases, she was named one of the Consumer Attorneys of San Diego’s “Outstanding Trial Lawyers” for work she did with partner Robert Francavilla in obtaining a $1.8 million for a client after he fell and suffered serious injuries at a San Diego fitness facility. She is married with two children.
