Rezulin Did Not Cause Woman's Death, Maryland Jury Finds

ROCKVILLE, Md. - A Montgomery County, Md., jury found Tuesday that Rezulin did not cause Monica George's death, concluding that Warner-Lambert Co. was not liable to George's family for her death. Shaw v. Pfizer Inc., No 209074 (Md. Cir. Ct., Montgomery Cty.).
After only one hour of deliberation, the six-person jury returned a verdict in favor of defendant Pfizer Inc., which acquired Warner-Lambert after Rezulin was withdrawn from the market.
In their suit against Pfizer, George's family alleged that Warner-Lambert concealed their knowledge of the dangers associated with Rezulin.
