Two Asbestos Bills Stall In Congress




WASHINGTON, D.C. - The 106th Congress failed again in its most recent session to bring to a vote two asbestos-related bills that could weigh heavily on the future of asbestos claims, despite the fact that both bills enjoyed bipartisan support among members of both the Senate and House of Representatives.

One bill offers tax relief to funds dedicated to the payment of asbestos-related claims and is intended to help ensure asbestos victims are compensated for their injuries by aiding the solvency of former asbestos manufacturers and distributors.
