Court-Ordered Mediation Fails, Sugar Creek Cases to Proceed to Trial

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A court-ordered mediation has failed, paving the way for at least three Missouri cases to go to trial this fall, sources told HarrisMartin. Detel v. BP Corp., et al., No. 04CV207637 (Mo. Cir Ct., Jackson Cty.).

Judge Marco Roldan of the Missouri Circuit Court for Jackson County had ordered a June 1 mediation in the 32 cases pending in the Missouri court.

The failure to successfully mediate allows for the second 'Sugar Creek' case to head to trial on October 30.
