New Complaint Says Benzol Caused Myelodysplastic Syndrome

NEW YORK -- A New York couple has filed a lawsuit in federal court, contending that the benzene-containing product Benzol has caused myelodysplastic syndrome. Nelson, et al. v. Ashland Inc., et al., No. 05-10364 (S.D. N.Y.).

The complaint was filed Dec. 8 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.

Plaintiffs John and Joan Nelson claim that John's work at a Kay Fries chemical plant for one year exposed him to benzene, subsequently causing his myelodysplastic syndrome.
