Plaintiffs Move for Preferential Trial Setting in Benzene Case

LOS ANGELES -- Plaintiffs asserting benzene claims have asked the court for a preferential trail setting, contending that a grandchild of the plaintiffs has a substantial interest in the case's outcome. Loyola, et al. v. Union Oil Co., et al., NO. BC280498 (Calif. Super. Ct., Los Angeles Cty.).
In a July 28 motion filed in the California Superior Court for Los Angeles County, the plaintiffs argue that California law requires trial to be set for no more than 120 days because a minor under the age of 14 has a substantial interest in the case.
