DES MOINES, Iowa -- U.S. Steel Corp. has designated expert witnesses in a benzene lawsuit in which the plaintiff alleges that his work as a mechanic exposed him to the benzene-containing product Liquid Wrench. Specht, et al. v. LIX Corp., et al., No. 04-cv-40143 (S.D. Iowa).
The defendant's Feb. 28 filing in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Iowa designated as witnesses Dr. Donald MacFarlane of the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics; and Dr. Charles Barton, State Toxicologist of the State of Iowa.
