Fla. Barbershop Owner Sues Ohio Security, Demanding Coverage for COVID-19 Losses

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The owner of a Florida barbershop has sued Ohio Security Insurance Co. in federal court, seeking a ruling that its business policy covers losses arising from COVID-19 civil authority orders.

In a May 18 complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Bauer Family Enterprises Inc. maintains that the policy provides coverage for losses stemming from the orders, including business operations for business income, extra expense, and all other coverage extensions up to the limits of the policy.
