Dallas Restaurant Worker Says Employer Threatened to Fire Workers for Wearing Masks

DALLAS — A Dallas restaurant has been sued by one of its employees who alleges that she was threatened with being fired if she wore a face mask during her shifts to protect herself against the risk of contracting COVID-19.

In a May 7 complaint filed in the Dallas County District Court, “Jane Doe” contends that after it reopened on May 1, Hillstone Restaurant Group Inc. d/b/a R&D Kitchen removed her from the work schedule when she insisted on wearing a mask while waiting tables.
