Judge Refuses to Stay Integrand Owners’ Lawsuit Pending Appeal

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico — A Puerto Rico federal judge has refused to stay a case filed by the owners of Integrand Assurance Co. against Puerto Rican insurance regulators, pending the defendants’ appeal of the judge’s denial of their motion to dismiss the action.

In an Oct. 30 order, Judge Gustavo Gelpi of the U.S. District Court for the District of Puerto Rico ruled that the case should proceed to discovery, noting that the plaintiffs have pled “sufficient plausible facts.”
