Teva, Distributors Reach Settlement with Ohio Counties on Eve of Opioid Trial




CINCINNATI - Teva Pharmaceuticals and certain drug distributors have agreed to pay two Ohio counties $325 million on the eve of the first bellwether trial in the opioid multidistrict litigation, sources told HarrisMartin Publishing.

Teva will pay a total of $45 million in cash and donated pharmaceuticals, while distributors McKesson Corp., Cardinal Health and AmerisourceBergen Corp. will pay a total of $215 million.

Defendant Walgreens Corp., which has been severed from the trial, is not participating in the settlement, according to sources.
