FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. –– A Florida state court has denied GlaxoSmithKline’s efforts to throw out asbestos cosmetic talcum powder claims, rejecting the defendant’s stance that the court did not have personal jurisdiction over the claims.

In a Sept. 24 one-page order, the Florida 17th Judicial Circuit Court for Broward County rejected the defendant’s argument that the plaintiff’s complaint had not satisfies the statutory required elements of the Florida Long Arm Statute.
