Parties in National Talcum Powder MDL Submit Post-Daubert Summation Briefs, Await Court’s Decision

TRENTON, N.J. –– Parties awaiting a Daubert ruling from the federal court overseeing the talcum powder national multidistrict litigation docket have filed summation briefs, with the plaintiffs maintaining that their experts have proffered reliable and qualified opinions linking talcum powder usage to ovarian cancer and defendants countering that the plaintiffs’ experts’ opinions lack general acceptance in the scientific community.

The separate briefs were both filed Oct. 7 in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey. The federal court held a Daubert hearing in July.
