North Carolina Jury Reaches Defense Verdict on Negligence Claim for John Crane at Conclusion of Asbestos Trial

RALEIGH, N.C. –– A North Carolina federal jury has reached a defense verdict on a negligence claim in favor of John Crane at the conclusion of an asbestos trial, rejecting the plaintiffs’ claims that exposure to asbestos-containing gasket and packing products caused a former carpenter, insulator, and maintenance worker to develop mesothelioma.

Trial in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina started on Sept. 16 before Judge W. Earl Britt and lasted for approximately two weeks before jurors reached their verdict on Sept. 27.
