Wash. Man Sues Distributors of Vaping Pen After Developing Lipoid Pneumonia

TACOMA, Wash. — A police officer has sued six distributors of a Chinese-made vaporizing vaping pen in Washington state court, alleging his use of the product caused him to develop lipoid pneumonia.

In the Sept. 23 complaint filed in the Pierce County (Wash.) Superior Court, Charles Wilcoxen, 44, says the defendant distributors knew or should have known the pen was not safe for human consumption and that they can be held liable as product manufacturers.

The complaint names as defendants Canna Brand Solutions LLC, Conscious Cannabis LLC, Canna NW LLC d/b/a Ranbow’s Aloft, Edgemont Group LLC d/b/a Leafwerx, Jaym Enterprises …
