Ohio Appellate Court Upholds Dismissal of Silica Claims Asserted Against Employer

AKRON, Ohio –– An Ohio appellate court has overruled the appeal of a silica plaintiff, concluding that the claimant had failed to satisfy pleading requirements with his claim against his employer.

In the Aug. 14 opinion, the Ohio Court of Appeals for the 9th Judicial Circuit explained that while the plaintiff is appearing pro se, those litigants must be held to the same standards as those represented by counsel.
