Ariz. Woman Sues Arthrex, Alleging Injuries from iBalance Knee System

PHOENIX — An Arizona woman has sued Arthrex Inc., accusing it of misrepresenting the safety, efficacy and longevity of its iBalance knee replacement system, forcing her to sustain injuries and undergo revision surgery to replace the defective components.

In a July 25 complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona, the plaintiff says Arthrex, in designing and manufacturing the artificial knee system, did not comply with the Food and Drug Administration’s current good manufacturing practice requirements.
