Integrand Rehabilitator Moves to Lift Stay, Remand Reinsurance Action

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico — The rehabilitator of a Puerto Rican insurer has asked a federal judge to lift the stay in an action seeking reinsurance coverage for two hurricanes and remand the dispute to state court.

In a July 8 motion filed before Judge Daniel R. Dominguez of the U.S. District Court for the District of Puerto Rico, the rehabilitator argues that the San Juan Court of First Instance has “exclusive jurisdiction over Integrand’s rehabilitation, including proceedings brought by or against Integrand.”
