SAN FRANCISCO — A California federal judge has dismissed a complaint accusing the makers of Cordarone (amiodarone) of marketing the anti-arrhythmic drug for off-label use, ruling that the plaintiff failed to cure the pleading defects previously identified by the court.

In a June 25 order, Judge James Donato of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California gave the plaintiff a third and final opportunity to amend his claims to cure the deficiencies.

Raymond Collette alleges that his ingestion of amiodarone caused him to develop pulmonary fibrosis. He sued Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, Inc., which makes the brand-name version of …
