New Lawsuit Says Allergan Knew of Link Between Silicone Breast Implants and Cancer

DENVER — A Colorado couple have sued Allergan in federal court, accusing it of failing to warn them that its silicone gel-filled breast implants can rupture and cause a rare cancer of the immune system, despite knowing of that risk as early as 2008.

The June 14 complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado further accuses Allergan Inc. and Allergan USA Inc. of failing to comply with federal law in designing, manufacturing and marketing their Natrelle silicone breast implants.
