Bayer, Janssen Agree to Pay $775 Million to Settle Xarelto Litigation




NEW ORLEANS — The Louisiana federal judge overseeing the Xarelto multidistrict litigation docket has stayed all cases in the wake of an announcement that Bayer and Janssen Pharmaceuticals will pay $775 million to settle the lawsuits asserted by plaintiffs who allegedly suffered a bleeding injury after taking the anticoagulant.

On March 25, Judge Eldon E. Fallon of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana stayed all further litigation activity in the MDL, including all discovery obligations and deadlines.
