Calif. Jury Awards $25 Million to Former National Iranian Oil Worker for Overseas Exposure




LOS ANGELES –– A California jury has awarded a former National Iranian Oil Co. worker $25 million, accepting claims that his testicular mesothelioma was caused by exposure to asbestos in products he used while working overseas.

The California Superior Court for Los Angeles County jury reached the verdict on March 14. Jurors assigned 60 percent liability to Fluor Enterprises Inc., and 20 percent each to Middle East Fluor and National Iranian Oil Co. The remaining 20 percent was allocated to all remaining defendants.

Judge Rupert A. Byrdsong presided over the trial.
